Yes, that is an extra “f” in the title…

This week has been one of the most stressful weeks I’ve had as of late. But I feel fairly proud of myself for turning to other methods of stress relief rather than drinking and food which were always my go-to before. Talking, venting, exercising, relaxing. I still refuse to do meditation because I’ve tried and it’s just not my thing… but the other methods certainly seem to help.

Friday was upper body day. I am more and more excited each day at how much less pain I feel in my shoulder. I am still not going to do any shoulder, chest or much back exercises, but I feel that I can do other things that shouldn’t cause too much discomfort in my shoulder. I told myself if I felt any pain, I would stop. So I focused on biceps and triceps again and did a workout that a fellow blogger told me about called 21s. It’s where you do 7 reps from full extension to half way, 7 from half way to the top, then 7 full range with no breaks. It really was a different workout and despite using weights I could normally handle more reps of, it wore me out. I then alternated between triceps and biceps until the end. When I tried to finish up with some tricep pressdowns, I felt some pain in my shoulder so I immediately stopped and called it good.

Overall it was a good day. I didn’t get as much stepping done as normally happens on Friday, but I reached my goal. I ate well and a bit more than I had planned but it was all still within my calories. Things went well for the day and I am excited the week is over.
