So I was complaining about how my leg workout didn’t seem to be doing what I had hoped, so I did a second day of leg workouts… well, they still haven’t done much. Normally after I do squats and leg presses and the like I have a tough time walking for a few days. I would like to blame it on possibly getting stronger and getting used to it, but I really don’t believe that. I haven’t done enough lately to consider that. So my guess is that I am still not putting enough volume up compared to before.
But that doesn’t mean that I am going to do it again. I am still trying to rest my feet, so three days in a row of squats wouldn’t be helping that at all. But there aren’t many other options so I stuck with doing curls. I did the Run-The-Rack style again just to exhaust them and then got on the treadmill to do some incline work.
The big frustration right now is my weight. I know that it isn’t a linear thing, that fluctuations happen. That stress and water and anything else can cause it to go up and down without reason. But I have been eating right, working hard, and it is just going up. This is where I start thinking “I should just eat what I want if I am going to gain anyway!” and I really just get all up in my own head.
And I did… I ate what I wanted. But at the end of the day, I ate about the same amount of calories I would have anyway. I just ate deliciously evil things instead of healthier options. I am sure I didn’t get the right macros or micronutrients, but it was delicious and I don’t feel bad about it. I tracked it. I ate it. I own it.
The rest of the week is going to be tough, as well as the first week of October. I am heading to Nevada to do a chili cooking contest with my friends and food isn’t exactly easy to come by there. But I will make due. And the first week of October I will be going on a business trip to San Jose so I am sure eating will be done.
I still can’t fully divulge the good news I received, but hopefully soon.
Now where’s the food!?
