I have a buddy who has been doing a chili cooking contest for a while in the tiny town of Carlin, Nevada. Last year a few of us went with him and helped him cook it and had a pretty fun time and took 2nd place. This year, I wanted to be a bit more involved so we have started planning our chili for the contest which is a month out. I went to my buddy’s house and spent a few hours throwing ingredients in a pot and came out with a damn good recipe if I don’t say so myself. It is a chicken chorizo chili and it is quite scrumptious.
Because of that, I didn’t get a lot of walking in for the day. I spent a lot of time standing in the kitchen, heading to the store, visiting my friend at KFC to make him try the chili, making another friend come and taste the chili as well (all four of us are in a group for the contest) and cooking. But not a lot of walking. However, I did make an effort to get my 10,000 steps in. Just didn’t do a whole lot else.
In other news, I ordered some things that wrap around your feet in your arch that are supposed to help with plantar fasciitis and heel pain. They were cheap and I expected them to do nothing but as soon as I slipped them on, I could feel a difference. I only wore them for a few hours before heading to bed, but I think they will definitely help until I get over this foot pain. Which I can hopefully do next week since I will not be running (at least until Saturday).
P.S. Eating chipotle peppers leads to interesting results…

I love chilli, and chicken and chorizo… that sounds amazing!!
Now I really want to cook chilli, later though, I am pretty sure work would frown on me leaving at 10 am to go cook chilli 🙂
