My surgeon prescribed that I should go to physical therapy once per week for the next four weeks. Today was my first day and it was pretty painful… and awkward. I started by showing him how far I could move my arm initially. He then stretched my shoulder out and got it moving before having me use a pipe (hehe) to move my arms around in different angles and then use a pulley machine to see how far I could move. The awkward thing was that he would just stand and watch me for eight to ten minutes without really saying anything… all while I kept doing the same thing over and over. I have never actually gone to PT before, but if this is what it’s like, it may be a sign to continue to avoid it. I am hoping that after next week I can be limber enough to do it on my own.

Despite antics at the therapist, I had a rather uneventful day. I had a few meetings that I had to attend and did my normal walking on breaks and lunch, but nothing super exciting has happened lately. It’s probably the calm before the storm as the fall/winter is usually when things start getting crazy with everyone trying to meet their numbers and throwing request after request at me. I guess we’ll enjoy the quiet while I can.

I have decided to swap my Free Day to today. I will be going to Godfather Pizza which is a great pizza buffet. I have eaten a little less each day – and will eat less on Saturday – to try to make up for it, but I am going to enjoy it while I can. It won’t throw a wrench in anything (anymore than the other places I’ve eaten on dates) but it may make it look bad on the scale for a day or two. But I expect it.
