Week 7 – Day 1: 294.7

It certainly feels sometimes like I am just squeaking by when it comes to losing this weight. The main thing is that I will weigh two or three pounds lighter on Saturday morning than I do on Monday morning. I know, I know. If I stopped weighing daily I wouldn’t have this problem, and maybe that is what I need to do. There is nothing wrong with weighing 4.1 pound less than I did one week ago. But again… when I was under 290 a few days ago, it makes me grumpy. We’ll see what I decide later.

But here it is, I just finished up 6 weeks and am down over 23 pounds and feeling a lot better about this whole process and project. Still, the hardest thing about all of this is the soda. I miss drinking my Diet Dr. Pepper. I even told my wife that I might actually start drinking soda again after this year-long project is over, but we’ll see how I feel. I honestly don’t FEEL any different not drinking soda, even though it allegedly messes with the gut and whatever else, but I really just miss it. I’m fine with everything else.

I know soda isn’t the best thing in the world, but is it really the worst?

Someone validate me!!

Anyway, feeling good about all that’s happening. I’m a little sore after my Monday workout for some reason. My foot hurts. Hopefully it’s not plantar fasciitis or something. That’s all I need is more things on my body falling apart.

I’m glad I get to see the doctor tomorrow to get the stitches removed from my shoulder and hopefully be rid of the sling. And I’m also going to have a yearly wellness check. Yay doctors…

  1. honestly, there is nothing wrong with drinking diet soda…
    It has no sugar therefore doesn’t mess up calorie control. Artificial sweeteners are’t evil or poisonous. There was a study which showed that aspartame damaged rats, but for the same effect to be experienced by a human you would have to consume multiple kgs (I can’t remember the exact amount but it would be practically impossible)
    So drink it I say…

    1. I did drink quite a bit. Probably 4 to 6 liters per day! So it probably wasn’t healthy. My fear is if I start again, I’ll go back to drinking that much. Because I truly enjoy soda that much.

      1. that is probably still not enough to be poisoned by aspartame, but probably not that healthy…
        I can’t drink 4-6 litres of anything in a day! I struggle to get 2l and that includes my chronic coffee addiction!

      2. Haha, I drink 2 liters of coffee (now decaf) per day, and probably 6 liters of water now! I love drinking liquids.
