So first for the change that is happening. Sometimes I am struggling at night to make sure I get my blog posted for the day. A while ago I wanted to change to posting it the morning after. After all, it is easier to talk about the day after it is 100% done than during part of the day. Since I was so busy yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to post it before I passed out, so today is the perfect time to make the switch. So this is for Saturday July 27th.
I woke up far earlier than I usually would on a Saturday because I knew I needed to get my exercise in. It was a lovely, cloudy day after it had been raining through the night so – other than a few puddles I had to dodge – it probably was the best time to run I’ve had in a while. Cool but not cold, cloudy, no sun peeking through. I didn’t have an amazing run as Saturday is after I have worn my legs out during the rest of the week. But I got it done. Nearly 4.5 miles.
The rest of the day was school clothes shopping with my younger daughter and then babysitting my granddaughter. She truly is a cutie and was great to have around. She really loved going outside and playing in the grass which prompted me to pull weeds so she didn’t get poked by them. She helped by pulling out some of the grass which was too long which was great. We went on a walk, watched some cartoons, played with my wife’s hat, and had a great day. I was honestly shocked at how many steps I ended up with. She really kept me on my feet and toes.
Other than that, I didn’t get to take advantage of my free day much. I could have, but I didn’t have much time. I had a caramel frappe when I took my daughter shopping, then I made my dinner right before the granddaughter woke up from her nap. So after eating that, I didn’t have much time to eat anything else. Oh well, the scale was happy for it I think. Though I had grand ideas for my free day.
Today will be shopping for the week’s groceries, getting in the bare minimum of steps (while keeping active for at least 30 minutes) and relaxing before tomorrow’s surgery.
