Another Wednesday has passed, another leg day has gone. Today I really wanted to exhaust my legs so – even after doing strength training and wanting to be done – I went for a 1 mile run. On top of wanting to make sure I finished strong, I need to get my Lazy Triathlon miles in. Luckily I will be finished with the rowing/swimming by the end of the week.
Unfortunately, that makes walking up the stairs even worse than usual. It isn’t my joints, it’s not even my feet, it is just my sore, tired, exhausted muscles not wanting to do anything but relax. I sometimes imagine I look like a Weeble when trying to go up the stairs.
In other areas of pain in some part of my body, I really hate when people stop me when I am going on break to talk. Listen, I know that I wear my headphones while I work, but that is to concentrate, not to necessarily shut out the world. But if you need to talk, please do it when I am here, not when I am walking away. It happens at least 2 or 3 times per week and often a lot more. So because of that happening multiple times today, I missed out on two of my 250+ steps on top of missing out on one because of a meeting. Argh! Then later I missed out on another hour. I think subconsciously my legs were revolting.
In other news, I wasn’t able to squat as much as I wanted today because I forgot my lifting belt. It is very important to me because I already have back issues and I don’t need to exacerbate them by trying to be He-Man without a belt. So I held back a little bit, but did as much as I could.
I got in plenty of steps, plenty of food, plenty of water and stayed away from the alcohol and soda for yet another day. It certainly seems to get easier and easier (mainly talking about the soda, I rarely “craved” alcohol) as the days go by, but I am waiting for that stumbling block to show up!
