So I was “lucky” enough to find out a couple of months ago that I have a type 3 hooked acromion. It’s basically a fancy term that says whenever I raise my arms above my head, a bone digs into the tendons and bursa and can lead to rotator cuff tears and other issues.
I received an injection of steroids to help it and it has for a while, but it hasn’t completely stopped the issues, especially when I am using weights and doing things like lateral raises or front raises. Even sleeping on my side (cuz I do) sometimes causes pain. There is a surgical option but I am not sure if I am ready to do that just yet. If it gets to the point where it is as bad as it was before I got the injection, I might take up that offer.
However, that isn’t going to stop me from trying to workout as best as I can. Today was upper chest and shoulder day (which is just another way of say lower shoulders and shoulders as far as I am concerned). I won’t lie… I couldn’t finish. I haven’t tried my circuit training routine in this format before this week. I used to always do full body every time. And maybe this is why. By the 3rd round out of 10, I could barely lift my arms because they were so worn out. I was actually only able to finish 5 of the 10 rounds.
