Initially, I had thought I was going to weight to “take control” of my life until after a certain date. But I decided… why not start today? Life isn’t about being perfect, it is about living. And I know that I will make mistakes and stumble along the way, but I may as well be accountable starting now…. or maybe… nnnnnow.
I have lost weight many, many times, and gained it back just as much. Most recently, I started in April 2018 at 380 pounds and got down to 265.9 in March of this year… then I started to let myself go again.
Currently I am about 285 pounds and I just don’t want to get back that other 100. So I am taking control… yet again!
I am not going to go into my food, at least not just yet. Maybe never… not sure how interested people actually are in what I eat. I sure won’t be taking photos of food, so no worries there! But I don’t know if anyone ever really cared what I shoved in my face. But then again, it’s all about accountability…
Today I did my third circuit routine. I am still working on perfecting the circuits. Will definitely change exercises around, maybe even days I do things, but so far, so good. Today I did:
Dumbbell Bench Pullover
Hammer Grip Dumbbell Bench Press
Dumbbell Arnold Press
Dumbbell Bent Over Lateral Raises
Dumbbell Alternating Biceps Curls
Dumbbell Alternating Biceps Hammer Curls
Dumbbell High Bench Row
Dumbbell Bent Over Row
Dumbbell Triceps Tate Press
Overhead 2-Arm Tricep Press
The way I do my circuits is I do each exercise for 3 reps and move to the next. Do 3 there, then the next, and so on. After I do all of the exercises, I start over. I do 5 full sets, take a 2 minute rest, then do 3 sets, 2 minute rest and then the final 2 sets. So in the end, I do 30 reps of each exercise with only two 2 minute breaks.
I know this sounds odd, but it has a method to the madness. Instead of trying to do 3×10 and doing lighter weights, I do the exact same amount of reps but at higher weights. Try bench pressing 180 pounds 10 times in a row, and doing that 3 times. It is probably tough (depending on your strength). But try bench pressing 180 pounds 3 times in a row, while spreading that out 10 times over the course of the circuit, and it can be done. That means more volume!
Anyway, today’s workout went great. Not a lot of walking at work as I have been super busy (except now) but I should get 10,000 steps in by the end of the day.
This afternoon we are going to see Aladdin and then the weekend starts! I can’t wait for this week to be over. Stress is stressful.
