I’m not sure where I saw this. It was probably one of my friends on Facebook who likes to post motivational stuff. But wherever it was that I saw it, I actually told myself that I completely agreed. It seems if you miss Monday (or your version of Monday) it makes it that much easier to make excuses for skipping the rest of the week.
“I already missed a day, I’ll start again next week.”
“I don’t want to screw up my routine so I will pick it up from the start next week.”
These are excuses I’ve told myself in the past and I am sure many others have as well. Not everyone is super excited to do any exercises or working out so when you get a chance to make up an excuse to skip it, sometimes you just go for it.
I’m not going to let that happen this week though.
Monday unfortunately was just far too busy to let me get to the gym. After work I had to immediately take the dog to the vet to get him checked out and get him his booster and rabies shots. I then had to go directly to the eye doctor to do my 3 month checkup from LASIK. Finally, thanks to the repairman having to skip out because his wife was in labor, I had to go to the laundromat and do 3 loads of laundry and then dry and fold and put it all away.
I moved around a lot and carried lots of crap around so I wasn’t exactly sitting on my rump doing nothing, but it wasn’t going to the gym.
Tuesday I will be at karate though. There will be no excuses.
Breakfast – Protein banana shake
Snacks – Protein and granola bars
Lunch – Chicken quesadillas
Dinner – Chicken enchiladas
Dessert – Fig newtons
