So I haven’t weighed myself in about… a long time. Mainly because I don’t feel like being disappointed in what has happened. Maybe I gained weight, maybe I lost weight, maybe it stayed exactly the same, but who knows. Point is, I don’t feel like weighing right now and I’m not going to. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing. We’ll find out another time if it is working or not.
I am somewhat concerned with the accuracy of my Bodymedia device. I know that they are supposedly accurate within 90% of the “gold standard” of calories burned, but sometimes I feel like it is telling me I am burning way too much. Don’t get me wrong, I am on my feet all the time, moving as much as I can, walking around all the time at work, hitting up the gym or another workout at least 5-6 days per week and keeping track of everything I eat. But sometimes I just don’t trust it.
Like everything else… I guess we’ll soon find out.
Today consisted of a crappy, busy day at work, lots of walking around and a nice run at the gym. Unfortunately, my knee decided to start hurting about a mile into my run. Fortunately (for me, not my knee), I decided recently that I am not going to give up because of small pains. As they say, there is a difference between being hurt and being injured. I’ll play through the hurt.
One good note is that my toe seems to be getting better. The toe I talked about a few days ago being injured at a waterpark. I noticed yesterday that it didn’t hurt too much at karate and today it hurt even less. Maybe I did something just right that is making it get better. Maybe it just doesn’t want to hurt too much right now. But I am happy right now with the lack of pain either way.
It’s amazing how pain from something so small can cause so many issues. I have quite a few of those pains lately. My elbow from chopping wood developed tennis elbow (though it is mostly gone), my toe from the slide and my wrist/thumb from who-knows-where. But I keep truckin’ through it all, playing through the pain, playing through the hurt.
Not gonna let my body tell me who’s boss.
