I chickened out.  Wimped out.  Woosed out (how do you even spell that word?)  I gave in.  Gave up.  Got out.  Basically, I did what I said I was going to do yesterday and not lift.

Does that make me weak?

I don’t think so, but I have no idea.  All I know is that my legs have not felt this way since I very first started lifting.  I did squats at a manageable weight on Tuesday and I find myself whimpering as I walk up the stairs.  My thighs and butt are so sore that I am worried I may have a hard time running in my race on Saturday.  I hope not.  I know it’s not the most important thing in the world, but I want to do it and do it to my full potential, not be held back because of sore muscles.

I still did plenty of exercise.  I walked this morning (too sore to run) and went on a long walk with my wife (too sore to run) and did more walking around some sores (too grown up to run).  But I didn’t lift.  And I am debating that I may not for the entire month.

This Turkey Challenge at work has got my competitive spirits soaring.  I probably won’t win (there is a marathon runner who is kicking everyone’s butt) but I want to do the best that I can.  So I think I may focus on running and walking and save the weight training for later.

Does that make me weak?
