For the majority of my life, I never used a crockpot. I can honestly say I don’t know how much my mother used one when I was growing up, but I don’t recall seeing one used very much. As I got older, I probably used one for stew or a roast (I actually don’t care much for roast) here and there, but I don’t think I utilized it to it’s full extent. If you’re using one to simply throw some juice on a piece of meat and let it soak, you aren’t taking advantage of what this amazing yet simple thing can do.
I feel like I’m part of an infomercial now…
My wife and I spent a lot of time looking at recipes and I don’t think we’ll stop anytime soon. Sometimes eating the same thing – even though it doesn’t bother me – can become monotonous. I started looking more into crockpot recipes and picked out a few and have actually used them. Other than tweaking one or two things, they have been delicious. And so easy! That’s the best part. I feel like I am contributing because I wake up and throw everything in the crockpot, turn it on and go to work and look… Earl made dinner.
It’s easy, it’s delicious, and it’s so versatile. If you don’t have one or only use it very rarely, I recommend looking into more crockpot recipes. Make sure you invest in the bags to go inside so you don’t have to clean much and it’ll be an easy meal every time from start to finish.
