Back pain’s back, tell a friend…
That’s right, the wonderful world of back pain has surfaced again. I guess I can honestly say it never went away. But it was painful enough on Tuesday to make me want to not be awake. Unfortunately, I had to spend my 9 hours at work and my time waiting for the train. Then I had to go to the store to replace a broken fan and (just my luck) nobody had any because it was getting colder and they stopped selling them. By the time I got home with a fan I just crawled into bed and slept for a couple hours.
The good news is that I went through my evaluation and should bet getting my standing station at work… within 6-8 weeks. I guess they aren’t really worried about the comfort of their employees. I jump through the hoops to go to the doctor and have him fill out the paperwork, then do a side-by-side, and now I still have to wait up to 2 months to get it. These are going to be a great 2 months, I can tell.
Because of the pain, I spent less time on my feet than I wanted to but more time on them than I felt like. I still ended up burning quite a few calories and got in over 12,000 steps, so I am not too ashamed but I do feel lazy when I don’t actually go to the gym or go for a walk or something. Though thinking back on it, it may be my little hike that caused the pain to flare up again. I felt fine up until and through Monday, then went on the hike and woke up in pain. So maybe that’s the contributing factor. My friend keeps telling me that I need to stop running marathons and dirty dashes, but they are things I want to do. Guess I have to decide if I want to live with the pain and keep doing things or try to make it go away by leading a simpler life.
