So I realized throughout the weekend that my blogging takes a serious hit on these days. I have many things to do and none of them make me think “man, I wish I was blogging instead.” So for those few who actually read this, the weekend posts will be pretty slim and probably late.
Sunday was a nice, lazy day. We got up and got rid of the kids then were able to go grocery shopping. That is usually the extent of our exercise on Sunday unless we decide to go for a walk (which we did). Grocery shopping can be quite a workout, though. My wife noticed that Sunday is generally the day when she takes the most steps because we are walking around the store and I am sort of a masochist and will park as far away from the store as possible and walk the rest of the way.
Am I the only person who does this? I remember only a few moths ago my wife and I would both work at finding the closest spot we could when we were going into a store or other location. There were times I got in verbal confrontations because someone thought I was “stealing their spot” when I got into a close parking spot. But lately we both sort of just park wherever we park or – if it’s me – park as far as possible to get some extra steps in. Maybe it doesn’t make much of a difference because it probably only adds up to 100 extra steps, but it’s something, right?
Meals:
Brunch – Pizza and chicken bake
Dinner – Pulled pork sandwich, salad, skinny potatoes and fruit salad
Dessert – Protein shake with Cracklin’ Oat Bran

1.15 mile walk with my wife
haha! I do those things…both write my weekend blogs late (hence a condensed saturday and sunday post this morning) and park as far away from the shop as I can…even in the rain…
It was the same form me…only a couple of months ago I would park as close to the entrance as I could…but now the other end of the carpark…every little helps I think!
Ha! At least I’m not the only one, I won’t be quite so worried now. And I agree, every step helps. I burn quite a few calories simply taking extra steps each day.
me too 🙂 you should see me stepping from side to side while trying to make coffee at work…it is quite entertaining!
Susan always parks as far away as she can. She parks in the last parking spot at ebay when she has to go to work alone on Fridays. It must be genetic.
Okay, I’ve never done that… I don’t know if I want to walk that extra half mile each day. Maybe I’ll give it a shot once.
