I can totally nap like this

This week keeps getting more and more dreadful in the tired department.  I am normally not one for a nap as it tends to give me a headache, make me feel like a piece of gum on the bottom of someone’s shoe and makes it more difficult to sleep when it actually IS bedtime.  But yesterday was one of those rare occasions that lying down equated to a slumber in the afternoon.  I was still able to get to the gym before this happened, but when I came home to relax before dinner, I did a lot more than relax.

I also have found out I need to be a bit more careful when using my calorie counter.  Unfortunately, I got too used to the system showing me everything and not really checking the label and found out that the protein powder I’ve been using for weeks is actually 10 calories more than my calorie counter said.  Not that it’s a huge deal, it increased my daily caloric intake by 20-30 calories is all, but it made me realize I need to be more careful.  I also wish the program I used would clean up their results some.  When I type in “Body Fortress Peanut Butter” looking for my protein powder, I shouldn’t get 743 different results with different (and same) numbers.  Annoying…

Other than all the above fun, it was a very boring and slow day.  Work was terribly boring and seemed to drag on, then my nap which just threw everything off, and then I didn’t feel like going swimming at all, so I didn’t.  I normally would (other than when I get tattoo work done) but I just did not feel like splashing around in the water let alone actually doing laps and water aerobics.  But I was still where I needed to be with my calories and got some exercise done, so I don’t feel too bad about it.  Just feel bad about not going with my wife.

  1. I know how you feel this week!

I am so tired physically that my legs actually hate me! I had to drag myself out for a run this lunchtime!

Which calorie tracker do you use? I use My Fitness Pal, its database seems to be really good (at least for uk foods) and it syncs with nearly every other fitness app going!

    1. I like working out and lifting, but I am really not looking forward to it today. Can’t wait for it to be done, though. Then I get a couple days of rest.

That’s what I use, too. The problem is that anyone can put in the information for a food so it can be incorrect. My protein powder said it was only 140 calories but I checked the label last night and it is actually 150. They need to have someone go in and clean up the food in there or something. Or I just need to take the time to check the information myself.

      1. I would like some rest…I have to think of some exercises I can do and still get rest as I have no choice but to do something every day now…It is my own fault for making crazy statements like “i will do exercise every day for a year” then writing a blog about it so I can’t get out of it!

MFP doesn’t seem to be that bad for UK foods, I suspect there are less people adding stuff due to there being, well, less people! I have learned to check the information mind you just in case 🙂
