I finally gave into the elbow pain. I got up this morning and could barely straighten my elbow. I guess playing through the pain doesn’t always work. So I did not do the 30 Day Shred this morning. I just went back to bed for 30 minutes… and it makes me feel like a woose. But I am still going to do my walks at work and still do cardio in the afternoon. I won’t be doing any Stronglifts as they require using the arms, and in place of the 30 Day Shred I am going to do some Tabata routines focusing on the lower body and core. Hopefully it won’t take too long to heal. I want to continue my strength routine and continue pushing myself.
I blame firewood. More importantly, I blame limbs and hatchets. I am pretty sure that is what caused it. When we were out camping this past weekend I gathered up a bunch of limbs and branches that I could find to make into firewood. My brother-in-law had a hatchet so I used it to cut everything up. Some of the limbs were pretty thick and sturdy so they took a while to get through. I am guessing while I was busy doing that, the force was busy beating the crap out of my tendon in my elbow.
But that’s okay. I will get through it just like I did the back pain. Hopefully this isn’t my body’s way of telling me I need to give up and just be an old, fat man. I am tired of being an old, fat man. I’ve been one for a large part of my life already (maybe not old, but you get the idea). Here’s hoping that some resting of my elbow leads to healing which leads to getting back to working out like a crazy person.
In other news, I watched two guys at work eat 1500 calories worth of pizza each. I remember not even 2 months ago I would have been all over that pizza train. Pizza is my favorite food in the world (for those who do not know me very well), normally causing me to eat a whole lot more than I need. But it didn’t work this time. Pizza doesn’t have control over me. Pizza’s my bitch, now.
